This is a very sweet show of tenderly rendered intimacies. The subject matter is highly personal yet without shutting out multiple interpretations.  You recognize objects and human forms in these paintings but in the same way you do as through dreams or memories. This goes a long way toward defining their content.  Kalina has successfully captured this lyrical rendering of experiences primarily through a combination of hazy paint handling and a sophisticated mix of colors.  A strong sense of style permeates these paintings without compromising the individuality of the  work. The paintings are highly seductive and the more time you spend with them the harder it is to pull away.
