Wout Berger, Bonnie Benrubi Gallery, 41 East 57th Street to February 24

Wout Berger’s photographs pick up on a sense of patterning more often associated with painting.  That of course is my seeing the abstract qualities to this work.  Actually Berger plays both sides to define his content. In the more abstract work you recognize the natural forms of the flowers and such.  But step back and the blend of colors and shapes conspire to create a non-referential patterned work that taps into Jackson Pollock territory.
