Keep looking this way with an always open mind and as you gain experience see which art keeps drawing you back for repeated visits. With each viewing do you see something new? Is the experience enhanced each time? Which art engages you in a crossroads dialog between your emotions and what the art expresses to you? Or do you find less emotional, more conceptually driven art more engaging? Keeping asking these and/or questions of your own as you continue to look. Eventually you will gain enough knowledge and experience to begin
forming intelligent opinions and value judgments as to what you think is good or bad. But always remember: art is subjective, never absolute and never ever trust anyone that tells you otherwise.
Good luck!
P.S. By practicing the above you may also find yourself surprised to find that how you view and understand figurative art will also radically change.
